Student Expectations
Student Expectations
(2013-14)
We are committed to providing a safe and inviting environment in which all students can learn. In order for us to accomplish this goal, we need your commitment to the expectations for evening school. We adhere to the same policies as the day school program in order to provide the education your child deserves.
1. All students are expected to attend classes as assigned. Course credit will be DENIED if absences exceed 10 days.
2. All absences accumulate until your coursework is complete.
3. Credit recovery students are required to remain in class for 2 hours (3:15 – 5:15).
4. Students taking a new course are required to remain in class for 3 ½ hours (3:15 – 6:45).
5. Student arrival and dismissal times may be adjusted and communicated to students at the teacher’s discretion to accommodate for breaks, etc.
6. Come to class prepared. You will need a pencil and paper every day.
7. Take care of all personal needs before you enter the classroom. (This includes bathroom, water, phone, etc.)
8. Turn off your cell phone before you enter the classroom.
9. Cell phones and other electronic devices may not be displayed during class time. Devices used inappropriately will be confiscated by the teacher or Ms. Cox and returned to parents.
10. When you enter the classroom, pick up your folder and begin work as directed by your teacher.
11. You will not be allowed to sleep in class.
12. Do not interact with other students without permission. Your objective is to complete your coursework before the end of the semester.
13. Respect others and their property.
14. Food and drinks will not be allowed in the computer labs.
15. Breaks will be permitted by your teacher as needed.
16. Discipline infractions will not be tolerated.
17. For security, remember to “Log Off” at the end of each session.
18. When you exit the classroom/lab, wait for your ride in front of the building. Students will not be allowed to go to the parking lot in the back of the school for pickup.
19. Notify your ride of the appropriate pickup time and place before class begins.
20. The Internet may be used for instructional purposes only. Inappropriate use of the Internet will not be tolerated.
21. Class evaluation includes 75% for classwork and 25% for the final exam.
